Sports and Educational
Youth Club of Eptagonia
The Sports and Educational Youth Club of Eptagonia was
established in 1997. This was the dream of two active and
young men named Andreas Pari Michael and Christakis Leonida
Panagi. Aim of the Club is to bring young people closer to
sports and culture.
The football team of the club took part in the local championship
in 1997-1998 and came in second. In 1999-2000, the team was
champion, and their victory was of great importance, as it
had to play with bigger teams. The football team is still
active.
Each administrative council, with the valuable help of
the president Mr. Michalis Pari Michael, support the Sports
Club with every means.
The club in cooperation with the community council and especially
its president organise a lot of cultural events, aiming to
bring old and young people together. Amongst others, they
annually put together a dance, Easter games, Pilota ( a card
game), Backgammon Games and Bingo.
The cost of its maintenance is quite high and therefore
difficult to be met by the people of Eptagonia. Their love
for the club is however greater and will always help maintain
the club and its activities.
Athleticism and fair game is, and always will be our Ithaca.
